Every business has the experience with good weeks and poor weeks. I used to analyze Sales Performance in depth on a weekly and monthly basis. Sometimes during peak trading periods on a daily basis especially when I made changes in one of my shops. Or at the time when new arrivals are on the shelves. Sales performance will influence the profit directly making it extremely important to get hold of. Not only knowing that the spend per head was ‘x’ or the average transaction value was ‘y’ but understanding what impacted the performance (type of customer, staff, business, product availability or..?).
